The annual Delaware Water Gap Celebration of the Arts Jazz Festival will mark its 33rd year when it takes place Sept. 10-12 in Delaware Water Gap.
Originally created as a small festival for musicians to celebrate the end of the summer season of performing in the resorts and a chance to gather and perform together, the festival has become a staple on the local music scene. With a reputation for hosting the finest jazz musicians in the world, the festival may have its strongest lineup yet this season.
COTA founding member, Phil Woods is slated to appear on Sunday along with the David Leibman Group. Both Woods and Leibman have been named NEA Jazz Masters, the highest honor bestowed on Jazz artists, for their contributions to the advancement of jazz. Woods will debut his new CD, Songs For COTA, at the festival.
