The Eastburg Community Alliance's 2010 OctoberFest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. to dusk at Miller Park and along Crystal Street in East Stroudsburg. The event is co-sponsored by Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation.

The OctoberFest event committee is seeking local artists/artisans, crafts persons as well as non-profit organizations and members of the farming community to participate in OctoberFest and offer goods and/or activities that celebrate autumn in the Poconos. Categories include, but are not limited to, seasonal produce, home canning, home-baked goods (pies, fudge, candy apples etc) arts, crafts, needlework, ceramics, pottery and wood works, seasonal decorations and items.

Also, in light of current community action for the preservation of the East Stroudsburg Station (Dansbury Depot), the committee is also seeking vendors of train-related goods and items that celebrate the local railroad history in East Stroudsburg. The cost to register is $25, or $15 for non-profit organizations. Registration and fee are required for participation and must be submitted to EastBurg Community Alliance no later than Oct. 21.

OctoberFest will also include live music and entertainment, a craft and vendor fair, sidewalk sales, pumpkin painting, children's games and more. Those interested in registering as a vendor should download a registration form online at www.eastburgalliance.com.
