The Garden of Giving is gearing up for another growing season. The garden was opened recently, and volunteers planted more than 7,000 bulbs of onions and gathered and washed almost 100 eggs that could be provided to neighbors in need while also providing education in nutrition and gardening.

All hands on deck will be needed on Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20, for the prepping and big planting. If you know of any groups or students interested in volunteering or needing community service hours please have them call 570-460-9508. The Garden of Giving is always in need of volunteers, especially those with tech skills to help in the office, in the garden, on the board and committees, as well as donations of skills, supplies and funding to purchase what is needed for the garden and chickens.

For more information, call 570-402-1282 or email gardenofgiving@gmail.com or write to Garden of Giving, 2556 Rising Hill Drive, Saylorsburg, Pa 18353 or visit thegardenofgiving.org.

Can’t make it this time? Volunteers are welcome on Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through fall harvest.
